  1. Me too! I’ve just bought some fabulous hand-painted 40% possum fur/60% wool yarn and I’m looking for a pattern. You can see it on my blog.

  2. You can’t tease us like that!
And my money is on the other baby sweater, too. Maybe a sleeve cuz I think it’s on bamboo DPN’s in that shot.
    Or a sock.
    Or something else equally scrumptious.

  3. Hmm…that’s not spinning. That’s the girl baby sweater-I remember the pink was very pale. I’ll bet you’ve started with a sleeve and are using it as your gauge swatch? It’s a lovely start!

  4. That looks like the start of a lacy wee sleeve, and it already looks gorgeous. These sweaters will be heirlooms for either gender.

  5. Maybe they’re fang warmers! Not really. Maybe socks for someone with mis-shappen toes??? Or maybe an itty bitty crown?

  6. Ah yes, sometimes I get like that too. We’ll send in reinforcements to make sure you get your hydration. Would you like an IV?

  7. Oooooooo… pretty… BTW, I shed a few tears when you mentioned Casey and Finnegan. Did you also mention Cherry Blossoms and Coffee Crisps?

  8. Thought maybe the spinning might be pushed aside for new knitting–knitting is much more fun and the finished product is….well, a finished product.

  9. Ha ha! I’m still laughing…been there, done that! I can totally relate – don’t talk, knit. The little beginning is beautiful – what are you making? Also – how does this relate to the tour de fleece, or is this a break? I can’t wait to find out what it’s going to be!

  10. WHAT ?? No spinning ? Oh my and the weather is co operating for that fleece to be spun. One does need a break thought don’t we. You’ll be like the tourtise and the hare and pull ahead before the deadline I bet. Good Luck. Wahtever it is that you are now knitting I love that palest of pink.

  11. Um — this doesn’t look like spinning to me! Of course, since I don’t ‘spin’, I might be mistaken. This might be some super new method alternating spinning the yarn with knitting the yarn into clothing. That spinning implement might be just outside the picture.
Nah. This is probably just major procrastination. Which is okay for one day, but two or more and there will be lamentations in the next posts about falling behind on the schedule!

  12. It looks like the cuff from Lenore to me (but maybe I’m just seeing things now I’m so far behind with the Rockin Sock Club?)

  13. Oooooh, that’s very pretty. I’m going for sleeve cuff – I’ll take odds at two to one.

  14. Love the lace edging! Have no idea what the pattern stitch is called, but it’s beautiful!

  15. Fascinating!
Babies need sweaters, regardless of Tours and Spinning; I think the earlier commenters are right. And that certainly looks like STR, I just finished a shawl’s worth of STR mediumweight lace, I know it well!
    Looks obsession-worthy.

  16. Do we get a prize if we guess correctly? A personal visit from her’s truly??
Whatever it is (and I’m guessing you’re using something you spun yourself), it’s quite lovely.
BTW, you’re quite the tease. What a great way to keep us coming back.
Ok…you know you really didn’t need to pull that trick out of the bag. We’re already hooked (pun intended).

  17. My money’s on Lynne Barr’s 3d architectural musings. Totally obsession-worthy.

  18. Megan’s probably anxious for this baby to arrive, and can’t go into labor until the sweater is finished, right? It probably counts if you have all the pieces made, even if they’re not seamed yet, especially since you’re making TWO of them. Knit like the wind!

  19. It’s Baby Mine sweater. If you put your cursor over some of the Harlot’s pictures you can cheat just a squeak to figure these things out;-) My cursor ‘caption’ has the word Quilla in it…the name of the pink baby yarn.
I have to have some skills during Tour de Fleece…I don’t spin. Sigh.

  20. …yeah, yeah, yeah…speaking of cute & lovely, will you ever reveal the pattern/source for that exquisite scarf with beads that you tantalized us with back on June 10th? If it is to be included in your next book, I can understand the tease, but otherwise, more info please! I am in the California fires and I cannot bear any knitting teaseing!

  21. Barbie Bra?
    Baby mine?
Just found out that I’m gonna be a g-ma…again! Whoot!
Gotta go buy lots of yarn! 🙂

  22. Okay, to those that think the Harlot should be spinning, can’t you see she still is? She obviously is just doing a test of the yarn, like a mini-skein, and then it, um… just fell down on the needles and impaled itself. Several hundred times. In pattern. Yeah.
And for the person who asked for the pattern of the beaded scarf in the June 10th entry, try checking the comments for back around May 26th. It’s in there somewhere. I thought I bookmarked it, but now I can’t find it.

  23. Where is the spinning? Am I going to have to find a habit and get a rule and do some finger whacking? Or is it that you are so far ahead of your goal that your mind set is: “Who needs to spin? I’ve got this thing in the bag.” Pursue your goal like a mad-woman…like you do Christmas…only stop yourself before you hit the no sleeping, crying, and cursing the gods situation.
Ah, who am I kidding? I make goals and fall off the goal wagon all the time, so do what you wish. Just keep us updated either way. I love seeing the progress…on either knitting or spinning.

  24. That’s gotta be the Baby Mine sweater. But it’s NOT handspun, it’s a new Socks that Rock color. Did Megan have the audacity to go into labor early before the baby knitting was completed? Unless of course she’s having the boy she’s been so sure of…

  25. But what is it? Clearly I’m out of the knitting loop or something and I missed a majorly popular pattern… which happens a lot since it’s pattern vs. groceries.

  26. Is that a new sock? Is that the beginnings of a baby sweater? More importantly, what kind of squishy fiber are you using? Not only are you a harlot, but you’re a tease as well.

  27. Is that the lovely soft pink STR you had especially dyed for your friend who’s oven timer is about to go off? Lovely. I would be obsessed, too.

  28. Ooh, that’s looking gorgeous! Although not so much like 1500 gms of spinning (says the woman who is still trying to make it to her wheel for today’s session…) 😉

  29. You must post these baby sweater patterns! You MUST! PLEEEEEEEEZZZZ! For the love of all that is wooly and warm, you just have to make these patterns available!
And soon, please? I have 2 friends who are expecting. I only have about 4 more months before I have to produce 2 somethings fabulous.

  30. Mmmm, pretty. I’m thinking Baby Mine sweater, but I have babies on the brain – I just held one at work today whe someone brought their little one in to visit. So cuddly, I almost want another one… Almost…

  31. I’m guesing baby sleeve too… But it sure looks like the top of that sock pattern, what the heck is it???? It uses Fixation… Brain! Don’t fail me now!

  32. Obsessed? Piffle. It’s not truly an obsession until the phrase ‘I can stop any time I want to’ comes out.

  33. Awesome Baby Mine Sweater. That Tina really is a master of color. Cannot wait to see more progress. Knit on, Sister Friend! knit, knit, knit…

  34. Dear dog! Make sure you remain hydrated, but not invibed since you would be froggin’ in the morning 🙂
I am sure you will let us know when you come up for air! Please be alert enough for photos.

  35. Maybe when my boys are 18 years old, I’ll get to knit as much as you do! I don’t even know how I find the time to go to the bathroom. Toddlers & newborns, ahhh! Can’t wait to see what it is that you’re knitting!

  36. I’m catching up after a few weeks away and just read the Canada Day post — wonderful. Never heard of ‘The Log Driver’s Waltz’ before. What a treat! I’m still smiling.

  37. I’ve never been happier to see this post. Now I know I’m not alone when my first BSJ has me riveted. It’s just knit, knit, knit, right?!

  38. *sigh* if only megan’s baby was indeed going to be a girl… oh, well – it is beautiful, nonetheless!

  39. That is so cute! I love that color, I think it’s like perfect almost white but with the perfect amount of pink. So sweet, I cannot wait to see the finished product!

  40. I hear ya, girl! Keep up the good work! Just started a simple pair of socks….yup, pair on two needles. So far–so good! they remain single entities…not ankle restraints. Am off to Atlantic City with them…..hope we don’t all get sunburned.

  41. Is this Franklin’s lace from Piecework? Nope, I just checked the picture again. The edge doesn’t have the fence. Looks good, though! After spinning, I’ll try Franklin’s lace.

  42. I can only imagine what would happen to our dear Harlot if Megan were to produce a girl baby before that sweater is finished…but I’m sure it would be wildly entertaining. Go, Megan, go!

  43. Not sure what it is, but I can totally understand the obsession. That’s just too precious!

  44. Anything obsessive takes your mind from the heat.
I get home before my boyfriend everyday and I start to knit. I’ve been clearing out my stash by knitting for charity all the little projects (mittens, hats, etc.) I don’t knit during the regular school year. By the time he gets home, its like a sauna in the house. (We live in Florida) He is perplexed at my not turning the air conditioning on but I tell him, if you are knitting and sitting down in one place, you don’t notice for a long time, and then you’re too dehydrated and tired to get up…

  45. Well, it’s not Tuesday, so spinning is obviously over for the week. But she must be a very mature baby girl if you’re knitting her a little pink baby brassiere… heehee Or will it take a really long time to finish this pattern?

  46. Hey, that doesn’t look like spinning! 😉 I understand though, sometimes my attention can get pulled into *hey look! I left that sock yarn in my bag!*

  47. Gotta be the baby girl sweater. Though I don’t have the magic cursor that says so, I went back and compared the pictures of the Quilla to today’s lovely post, and unless your camera is quirky with colors, that’s it!! Beautiful!!

  48. Wait… where’s the part where it says what it is? It looks fun. Is it socks? Looks like STR, but it’s all one color. Jeez… now I want to make one and I don’t even know what it is. ;^D

  49. If it is the ‘baby mine’ sweater and you are truely obsessed…it’s probably done by now 🙂
    Can’t wait to see it!

  50. Baby sweater with Lenore pattern! Genius! Brilliant! It might even turn into a scarf now because I was hating to hide that beautiful yarn and pattern on the feet and a baby in the Raven colorway – well, a little goth for me :)! Thank you for the inspiration.
