Just a step to the left

Rocky horror 2014-06-30

Just a quick one today, since Jen and I are off to ride the first day of our back to back centuries.  (The weather is ominous. We’re trying to be cheerful.) We just wanted to take a minute to tell you about something super fun. Our team is having a fundraiser this Saturday night at the Fox Theatre in Toronto.  (We’re so sorry if you live to far away, it’s going to be kind of a blast.) We’re showing The Rocky Horror Picture show at (when else?) midnight!

We’ll have beer and stuff, and a ticket is $25, and gets you in the door (where you can buy the beer) and a shot at some cool door prizes.

If you would like to come, email us at psyclopaths@gmail.com to reserve a ticket(s) and if you know someone you think would love this, let them know, will ya?

  1. I wish I lived closer.
I went to a midnight showing of RHPS back in high school with some friends. That would be a fun thing to do again!!

  3. I love that this is your choice of movie for a fundraiser. I wish I lived close enough to attend, but I don’t.

Instead, I will send a donation, pull out my Rocky Horror DVD, and drink a beer with you in spirit. (I may or may not do this in costume)

Who else wants to join me?

  4. Oh, I wish I lived closer – one of my favorite movies! I did the midnight show in San Francisco back when it opened – being a good little girl (back then), I had no idea what my date was taking me to. And the audience participation blew my mind – fun memories! Best of luck with the fundraiser and the raining today.

  5. I used to go to the midnight showings here in LA all the time when I was in my 20s. It was so much fun. I wish I lived close, I’d definitely go!

  6. Do you mind if I quote a couple of your posts as long as I provide credit and sources back to
your website? My website is in the very same area of interest
as yours and my users would definitely benefit from a lot of the information you provide here.

  7. I actually think the bike ride sounds as much fun as the movie. Is it 2 metric centuries or 2 x 100 miles? Either way, right on!

  8. If I could manage to be and stay awake at that time I’d totally be there. My daughter is the 3rd generation of my family to be a patron of the Fox (since the 1930’s). It’s our favourite place to go see a movie and I have indeed seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show there (same night as the Mississauga rail disaster.. why is the sky lit up like that?) . I’m sure you know but if you don’t it’s the longest continually operating movie theatre in Toronto.

  9. Contemplated makeing the trip to Toronto for about 2 minutes. Then my sanity kicked in. If I’m actually working this week, I’ll try to send a donation instead.

  12. Many years ago, we had a lovely lady visit us from Japan — very sweet, very shy, limited English, not used to big cities. We took her to New York City to see a revival of the play “42nd Street.” Lots of music and dance to enjoy, even with no English. Times Square at night freaked her out badly enough. We decided to take her to a coffee shop in Greenwich Village (giver her the New York experience). Unfortunately, when we got out of the subway we were right in front of a theater showing the midnight screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, complete with a *very* colorful clutch of folks in costume. Think a weird, funky Greenwich Village before it was cleaned up. She took one look at the line of folks waiting to get in and I thought our poor Japanese friend was going to have a heart attack right then and there! She had never seen anything like it. She had a death grip on my arm and just keep saying, “We go now, yes? We go now, yes?” Poor thing! Oddly, she never visited us again…..

  13. I love the RHPS…..seen it so many times…..my daughter and son used to go to Halloween showings in downtown Vancouver. Her as Magenta, him as Frankie!
    Enjoy!
