Happy Birthday Sam from a fan of "this reporter's" blog!
Your blog is a must read for me. Your writing is fantastic - always creative and thoroughly enjoyable! Thanks for sharing.
Posted by Mary at February 17, 2004 12:32 PMWhen my daughter turned 10, she was REALLY excited about having two numbers in her age!
Posted by Linda B at February 17, 2004 1:59 PMLinda, that's very true. Here we call it being a member of the "double digit club".
Posted by Stephanie at February 17, 2004 2:04 PMHappy birthday, Sam! You've got a wonderful name! My own daughter was so disappointed that I didn't name her Samantha too that she's gone by "Sam" for six years now anyway. Her college roommates told me I had the wrong number when I asked for Jennie! Just try to explain how "Sam" is short for "Jennie." Oh, and, she's decided she has to have a daughter someday so she can give her the name I cheated her out of.
Happy tenth!
Joyeuse Anniversaire, Sam!
Can I have what you're knitting on in this photo of you? Heh. I tried.
Your mom is lucky to have such a seemingly ideal and quite beautiful child, and you are lucky to have a cool mom.
Yes, sorry to shatter you, but your mom is very cool.
Happy day!
Oh what a lovely story.
Thank you!
Helen
What a beautiful 10-yr. old you have! It almost makes me sad that my youngest hasn't been 10 for about 11 1/2 yrs. I said almost. By the way, I think you started a run on carnival shawls. Got an email from Dougal at KnitNet who remarked that they've been flying off the shelves, and that they were all out of the blue ones!
Posted by Theresa at February 17, 2004 6:33 PMFrom one Sam to another, Happy Birthday to you! You're understandably proud, Mom - felicitations to the both of you!
Posted by Sam at February 18, 2004 2:54 AMHappy Birth-Day to you, Stephanie! I maintain that any day on which you've given birth is a holiday for you forever. (She's lovely!)
