Is it a very tiny bra?

Posted by: Adrienne at July 10, 2008 4:30 PM

You go girl! That's what it is all about!

Posted by: Daniele at July 10, 2008 4:31 PM

It looks familiar though, and I'm betting it's a sock.

Posted by: Cindy at July 10, 2008 4:32 PM

Me too! I've just bought some fabulous hand-painted 40% possum fur/60% wool yarn and I'm looking for a pattern. You can see it on my blog.

Posted by: Shirley at July 10, 2008 4:33 PM

Is this the pink for the other baby sweater?

Posted by: Mary at July 10, 2008 4:34 PM

What happened to the spinning?

Posted by: PattyM at July 10, 2008 4:36 PM

I bet that's the pink for the possible little girl????

Posted by: kelly at July 10, 2008 4:37 PM

You can't tease us like that!

And my money is on the other baby sweater, too. Maybe a sleeve cuz I think it's on bamboo DPN's in that shot.

Or a sock.

Or something else equally scrumptious.

Posted by: Paula at July 10, 2008 4:37 PM

That's the Baby Mine sweater, huh? It's gonna be great.

Posted by: Marina Stern at July 10, 2008 4:37 PM

Hmm...that's not spinning. That's the girl baby sweater-I remember the pink was very pale. I'll bet you've started with a sleeve and are using it as your gauge swatch? It's a lovely start!

Posted by: Jody at July 10, 2008 4:41 PM

That looks like the start of a lacy wee sleeve, and it already looks gorgeous. These sweaters will be heirlooms for either gender.

Posted by: Meredith at July 10, 2008 4:41 PM

Maybe they're fang warmers! Not really. Maybe socks for someone with mis-shappen toes??? Or maybe an itty bitty crown?

Posted by: Miss Tracy at July 10, 2008 4:41 PM

shouldn't you be spinning?

Posted by: Catie at July 10, 2008 4:44 PM

I know! It's ear warmers for the kitty.

Posted by: Pam/2muchfun at July 10, 2008 4:47 PM

Ah yes, sometimes I get like that too. We'll send in reinforcements to make sure you get your hydration. Would you like an IV?

Posted by: Kit at July 10, 2008 4:47 PM

Johnnie-jump-up for scale.

Posted by: rams at July 10, 2008 4:49 PM

Oooooooo... pretty... BTW, I shed a few tears when you mentioned Casey and Finnegan. Did you also mention Cherry Blossoms and Coffee Crisps?

Posted by: Suzanne at July 10, 2008 4:50 PM

Thought maybe the spinning might be pushed aside for new knitting--knitting is much more fun and the finished product is....well, a finished product.

Posted by: Pat DeLeeuw at July 10, 2008 4:51 PM

Ha ha! I'm still laughing...been there, done that! I can totally relate - don't talk, knit. The little beginning is beautiful - what are you making? Also - how does this relate to the tour de fleece, or is this a break? I can't wait to find out what it's going to be!

Posted by: danana at July 10, 2008 4:52 PM

WHAT ?? No spinning ? Oh my and the weather is co operating for that fleece to be spun. One does need a break thought don't we. You'll be like the tourtise and the hare and pull ahead before the deadline I bet. Good Luck. Wahtever it is that you are now knitting I love that palest of pink.

Posted by: JoanH at July 10, 2008 5:00 PM

It's a girly sweater!!! Pale pink lace. So sweet.

Posted by: deb sheets at July 10, 2008 5:00 PM

Um -- this doesn't look like spinning to me! Of course, since I don't 'spin', I might be mistaken. This might be some super new method alternating spinning the yarn with knitting the yarn into clothing. That spinning implement might be just outside the picture.

Nah. This is probably just major procrastination. Which is okay for one day, but two or more and there will be lamentations in the next posts about falling behind on the schedule!

Posted by: Shel at July 10, 2008 5:01 PM

Totally understood. Flights of genius are like that.

Posted by: Brandy at July 10, 2008 5:03 PM

It looks like the cuff from Lenore to me (but maybe I'm just seeing things now I'm so far behind with the Rockin Sock Club?)

Posted by: Jennie at July 10, 2008 5:03 PM

Beautiful, is it the girl sweater? It'll be lovely!

Posted by: Doris at July 10, 2008 5:04 PM

rock on!

Posted by: single White Knitter at July 10, 2008 5:06 PM

Oooooh, that's very pretty. I'm going for sleeve cuff - I'll take odds at two to one.

Posted by: Elizabeth in Apex, NC at July 10, 2008 5:08 PM

Love the lace edging! Have no idea what the pattern stitch is called, but it's beautiful!

Posted by: Teish at July 10, 2008 5:08 PM

It looks like a sock pattern from Knitting On The Road.

Grtz...

Posted by: Blogie at July 10, 2008 5:10 PM

but what is it?!

Posted by: christine m. east of toronto at July 10, 2008 5:11 PM

Fascinating!

Babies need sweaters, regardless of Tours and Spinning; I think the earlier commenters are right. And that certainly looks like STR, I just finished a shawl's worth of STR mediumweight lace, I know it well!

Looks obsession-worthy.

Posted by: Cathy-Cate at July 10, 2008 5:16 PM

It's the Baby Mine sweater! Gotta be.

Posted by: Carol at July 10, 2008 5:18 PM

Do we get a prize if we guess correctly? A personal visit from her's truly??

Whatever it is (and I'm guessing you're using something you spun yourself), it's quite lovely.

BTW, you're quite the tease. What a great way to keep us coming back.

Ok...you know you really didn't need to pull that trick out of the bag. We're already hooked (pun intended).

Posted by: Nathalie at July 10, 2008 5:21 PM

My money's on Lynne Barr's 3d architectural musings. Totally obsession-worthy.

Posted by: Fran at July 10, 2008 5:23 PM

Megan's probably anxious for this baby to arrive, and can't go into labor until the sweater is finished, right? It probably counts if you have all the pieces made, even if they're not seamed yet, especially since you're making TWO of them. Knit like the wind!

Posted by: Rhonda from Baddeck at July 10, 2008 5:24 PM

It's Baby Mine sweater. If you put your cursor over some of the Harlot's pictures you can cheat just a squeak to figure these things out;-) My cursor 'caption' has the word Quilla in it...the name of the pink baby yarn.

I have to have some skills during Tour de Fleece...I don't spin. Sigh.

Posted by: Melinda at July 10, 2008 5:46 PM

What, no spinning? (It is a very cute wee bit of lacy something, though.)

Posted by: Sarah at July 10, 2008 5:58 PM

...yeah, yeah, yeah...speaking of cute & lovely, will you ever reveal the pattern/source for that exquisite scarf with beads that you tantalized us with back on June 10th? If it is to be included in your next book, I can understand the tease, but otherwise, more info please! I am in the California fires and I cannot bear any knitting teaseing!

Posted by: Camy at July 10, 2008 6:01 PM

Barbie Bra?
Baby mine?
Just found out that I'm gonna be a g-ma...again! Whoot!
Gotta go buy lots of yarn! :)

Posted by: Jo at July 10, 2008 6:10 PM

Whatever it is, it's smooshy and creamy. WANT.

Posted by: Wen at July 10, 2008 6:19 PM

Okay, to those that think the Harlot should be spinning, can't you see she still is? She obviously is just doing a test of the yarn, like a mini-skein, and then it, um... just fell down on the needles and impaled itself. Several hundred times. In pattern. Yeah.

And for the person who asked for the pattern of the beaded scarf in the June 10th entry, try checking the comments for back around May 26th. It's in there somewhere. I thought I bookmarked it, but now I can't find it.

Posted by: Rubenesque at July 10, 2008 6:20 PM

Knitted boobs, is my guess. Probably way cheaper than the silicone kind...

Posted by: suburbancorrespondent at July 10, 2008 6:24 PM

Where is the spinning? Am I going to have to find a habit and get a rule and do some finger whacking? Or is it that you are so far ahead of your goal that your mind set is: "Who needs to spin? I've got this thing in the bag." Pursue your goal like a mad-woman...like you do Christmas...only stop yourself before you hit the no sleeping, crying, and cursing the gods situation.

Ah, who am I kidding? I make goals and fall off the goal wagon all the time, so do what you wish. Just keep us updated either way. I love seeing the progress...on either knitting or spinning.

Posted by: chancy at July 10, 2008 6:28 PM

That's gotta be the Baby Mine sweater. But it's NOT handspun, it's a new Socks that Rock color. Did Megan have the audacity to go into labor early before the baby knitting was completed? Unless of course she's having the boy she's been so sure of...

Posted by: Nancy at July 10, 2008 6:30 PM

But what is it? Clearly I'm out of the knitting loop or something and I missed a majorly popular pattern... which happens a lot since it's pattern vs. groceries.

Posted by: Convivialiddell at July 10, 2008 6:41 PM

Is that a new sock? Is that the beginnings of a baby sweater? More importantly, what kind of squishy fiber are you using? Not only are you a harlot, but you're a tease as well.

Posted by: Heide at July 10, 2008 6:43 PM

Is that the lovely soft pink STR you had especially dyed for your friend who's oven timer is about to go off? Lovely. I would be obsessed, too.

Posted by: CTJen at July 10, 2008 6:44 PM

hahhahahahahahahahahahah... :^)

Posted by: marianne at July 10, 2008 6:45 PM

Ooh, that's looking gorgeous! Although not so much like 1500 gms of spinning (says the woman who is still trying to make it to her wheel for today's session...) ;)

Posted by: Jocelyn at July 10, 2008 6:46 PM

Whatever it is, it ain't a gansey!

Posted by: stephanie at July 10, 2008 7:00 PM

Posted by: Melly at July 10, 2008 7:01 PM

Posted by: melly at July 10, 2008 7:01 PM

You must post these baby sweater patterns! You MUST! PLEEEEEEEEZZZZ! For the love of all that is wooly and warm, you just have to make these patterns available!

And soon, please? I have 2 friends who are expecting. I only have about 4 more months before I have to produce 2 somethings fabulous.

Posted by: Sharon In Michigan at July 10, 2008 7:16 PM

Yum. Zoom way in and it could be a twist picture. I'm sure you know about twist right? http://twistcollective.com/

Posted by: tree at July 10, 2008 7:33 PM

Mmmm, pretty. I'm thinking Baby Mine sweater, but I have babies on the brain - I just held one at work today whe someone brought their little one in to visit. So cuddly, I almost want another one... Almost...

Posted by: Sandra at July 10, 2008 7:39 PM

Such beautiful spinning!

Wait! Where are my glasses? What!?

(so funny I am)

Posted by: Gwen at July 10, 2008 7:40 PM

Posted by: Riin at July 10, 2008 7:44 PM

Blue Moon? Quilla?

Posted by: AlisonH at July 10, 2008 7:55 PM

I've done spinning that looked just like that.

Posted by: Evalyn at July 10, 2008 8:09 PM

I'm guesing baby sleeve too... But it sure looks like the top of that sock pattern, what the heck is it???? It uses Fixation... Brain! Don't fail me now!

Posted by: Susan at July 10, 2008 8:13 PM

Obsessed? Piffle. It's not truly an obsession until the phrase 'I can stop any time I want to' comes out.

Posted by: Rachel H at July 10, 2008 8:16 PM

Of course......we all are!!

Posted by: tina at July 10, 2008 8:22 PM

Hmmmmm! Must be ahead with the spinning....

Posted by: Juliet in Grand Rapids at July 10, 2008 8:23 PM

Awesome Baby Mine Sweater. That Tina really is a master of color. Cannot wait to see more progress. Knit on, Sister Friend! knit, knit, knit...

Maybe when my boys are 18 years old, I'll get to knit as much as you do! I don't even know how I find the time to go to the bathroom. Toddlers & newborns, ahhh! Can't wait to see what it is that you're knitting!

Posted by: Quiara at July 11, 2008 12:58 AM

funny, that doesn't look like a spinning wheel! 1500 gms indeed!

Posted by: minnie at July 11, 2008 1:17 AM

Posted by: Ellen at July 11, 2008 8:43 AM

That is so cute! I love that color, I think it's like perfect almost white but with the perfect amount of pink. So sweet, I cannot wait to see the finished product!

Posted by: Becky at July 11, 2008 8:59 AM

I hear ya, girl! Keep up the good work! Just started a simple pair of socks....yup, pair on two needles. So far--so good! they remain single entities...not ankle restraints. Am off to Atlantic City with them.....hope we don't all get sunburned.

Posted by: Cathie Dewey at July 11, 2008 9:21 AM

Is this Franklin's lace from Piecework? Nope, I just checked the picture again. The edge doesn't have the fence. Looks good, though! After spinning, I'll try Franklin's lace.

Posted by: denyse at July 11, 2008 9:38 AM

I can only imagine what would happen to our dear Harlot if Megan were to produce a girl baby before that sweater is finished...but I'm sure it would be wildly entertaining. Go, Megan, go!

Posted by: Presbytera at July 11, 2008 10:13 AM

You? Obsessed?

Posted by: inky at July 11, 2008 10:15 AM

Beginning of a scarf? Can't wait to see what it progresses into!

Posted by: Carolyn at July 11, 2008 10:29 AM

Oh, I completely forgot about Baby Mine, I don't think it's a sock anymore.

Posted by: Cindy at July 11, 2008 10:32 AM

Not sure what it is, but I can totally understand the obsession. That's just too precious!

Posted by: Sue at July 11, 2008 11:20 AM

Looks like lace. I understand.

Posted by: Lucia at July 11, 2008 11:59 AM

Anything obsessive takes your mind from the heat.
I get home before my boyfriend everyday and I start to knit. I've been clearing out my stash by knitting for charity all the little projects (mittens, hats, etc.) I don't knit during the regular school year. By the time he gets home, its like a sauna in the house. (We live in Florida) He is perplexed at my not turning the air conditioning on but I tell him, if you are knitting and sitting down in one place, you don't notice for a long time, and then you're too dehydrated and tired to get up...

Posted by: Samantha at July 11, 2008 12:00 PM

Well, it's not Tuesday, so spinning is obviously over for the week. But she must be a very mature baby girl if you're knitting her a little pink baby brassiere... heehee Or will it take a really long time to finish this pattern?

Posted by: Gretcheng at July 11, 2008 1:00 PM

Hey, that doesn't look like spinning! ;) I understand though, sometimes my attention can get pulled into *hey look! I left that sock yarn in my bag!*

Posted by: Kait in VT at July 11, 2008 1:15 PM

Gotta be the baby girl sweater. Though I don't have the magic cursor that says so, I went back and compared the pictures of the Quilla to today's lovely post, and unless your camera is quirky with colors, that's it!! Beautiful!!

I have cast-onitis too. I don't know what it is, but it's cute.

Baby sweater with Lenore pattern! Genius! Brilliant! It might even turn into a scarf now because I was hating to hide that beautiful yarn and pattern on the feet and a baby in the Raven colorway - well, a little goth for me :)! Thank you for the inspiration.
